The Department of Psychiatry is pleased to invite you to join our Mindful Relaxation Minutes, a weekly thirty-minute opportunity to rejuvenate. Over the course of the year we will learn how to practice various proven ways to reduce stress levels, including Mindfulness, Yoga Nidra, Progressive Muscle Relaxation, Autogenic Training and Breath Work. Sessions will be led by experienced teachers and online didactic information will be available on the UF Psychiatry Sharepoint for those who want to learn more about the scientific evidence base or how to access additional resources. Instructors:

Genevieve Camp, MA, ATR-BC, LMHC, RYT Genevieve Camp completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training and 100 hour yoga nidra facilitator training at the Amrit Yoga Institute in Salt Springs, FL. Yoga nidra is an ancient guided meditation practice that uses breath and body awareness techniques to take you into a deep state of relaxation and rejuvenation.

Carol Lewis, PhD, MPH Carol Lewis, PhD, MPH is a clinical psychologist who has training in 3 mindfulness-based programs Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Dr. Lewis uses mindfulness strategies extensively in her clinical work. As a public health practitioner, Dr. Lewis is working on developing low-intensity, easily accessible mindfulness-based treatment strategies. She is also a regular meditator and yoga practitioner, who meditates with a Thich Nhat Hanh based meditation group, and retreats yearly.

Lisa Merlo, PhD, MPE Dr. Merlo is a licensed clinical psychologist with experience in a variety of psychotherapy treatment modalities. She routinely incorporates relaxation and mindfulness strategies in her clinical work with patients, and has a personal interest in the benefits of meditation practice for all individuals.
