Genuardi named assistant dean for undergraduate medical education for UF’s Jacksonville campus

Dr. Frank J. Genuardi recently was promoted to assistant dean for undergraduate medical education for the University of Florida College of Medicine’s urban campus in Jacksonville. He also was appointed chair of the clerkship committee for both the Jacksonville and Gainesville campuses.

Genuardi, who served three years as director of undergraduate medical education at Jacksonville, will oversee all clinical rotations at the Jacksonville campus. All third-year medical students complete at least a two-week rotation in Jacksonville, with some students choosing to train there for up to 40 weeks. Fourth-year medical students, as well as students from the physician assistant program, also can elect to complete rotations at the urban campus. As chair of the clerkship committee, he will work with clerkship directors and oversee all third-year clinical rotations at both campuses.

His promotion is part of the college’s effort to further integrate the Gainesville and Jacksonville campuses. Genuardi will report to Dr. Ann Harwood-Nuss who recently was promoted to associate dean of educational affairs for the Jacksonville campus, and to Lynn Romrell, the associate dean for medical education who is located in Gainesville.

Genuardi, who joined UF in 1994, also is a clinical assistant professor of pediatrics and the chief of the division of adolescent medicine. He currently is a member of the college’s curriculum and admissions committees, as well as director of the pediatric clerkship program and associate medical director of the physician assistant program.
