Health Science Center executive elected to national planning group

Patricia Winning, assistant vice president of health affairs at the University of Florida Health Science Center, is the new president-elect of the American Association of Medical Colleges’ Group on Institutional Planning.

Winning was named to the three-year appointment during the association’s annual meeting in March in New Orleans. She is slated to become president of the national planning group in May 2002.

The Group on Institutional Planning, a sub-council of the AAMC, promotes information exchange and advance planning techniques for academic medical centers. The group comprises more than 800 members, including clinical program planners, facility construction planners and strategic planners from medical schools and hospitals affiliated with academic health centers.

Winning conducts business planning and clinical program planning project work for the Health Science Center’s six colleges and for Shands HealthCare.
