Thomas Brown, UF oral biologist, appointed to IADR/AADR Joint Technology and Communications Committee
Thomas A Brown, Ph.D., has been appointed to the International Association for Dental Research and American Association for Dental Research Joint Technology and Communications Committee.
Brown, a professor and microbiologist in the department of oral biology at the University of Florida College of Dentistry, joins an international assembly of scientists to serve a three-year term on the committee.
The role of the Joint Technology and Communications Committee is to review advanced technology and communications systems applicable to the dental associations.
"One proposal under consideration by the committee, and especially exciting to me, is to use the IADR/AADR Web site as a repository for large research databases — such as transcriptome analyses of important dental pathogens — to increase accessibility of the data for the global research community," Brown said.
