UF veterinary college dean honored by Dade County veterinary group

The Dade County Veterinary Foundation has honored Joseph DiPietro, D.V.M., dean of the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine, for his outstanding contributions to the state and to the veterinary profession.

DiPietro received the foundation’s Education Award for his efforts in South Florida to promote responsible pet ownership and the benefits of the human-animal bond.

Also a professor of parasitology at the college, DiPietro came to UF in 1996. He is known for his scientific contributions to the epidemiology, control and treatment of parasitic diseases of large farm animals, in particular those afflicting horses, cattle and swine.
