World Diabetes Day

The Century Tower shone blue as UF became the first university in the United States to light campus monuments in honor of World Diabetes Day on Nov. 14. The 11-story tower was one of six campus landmarks that were lit and remained blue throughout the weekend to raise awareness about the growing diabetes epidemic. World Diabetes Day was instituted by the International Diabetes Federation and is the primary global awareness campaign devoted to diabetes. (Photo by Sarah Kiewel/University of Florida)
