Stechmiller elected to serve on national health board

University of Florida College of Nursing Associate Professor Joyce Stechmiller, Ph.D., R.N., was elected to serve a three-year term on the National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel board of directors.
Stechmiller is a national expert in wound care and has a long program of research focusing on chronic wound healing, nutrition, immune function and health outcomes among older adults.
Stechmiller has worked with national organizations to develop evidence-based guidelines and consults with industry in the development of wound-care therapies. Her research has been funded by the National Institute of Nursing Research, the Department of Veterans Affairs and industry.
Stechmiller is a certified nurse practitioner in acute care by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and was named a fellow in the American Academy of Nursing in 2008.
