UF aids in sea turtle rescue effort

Clinical pathologist Nicole Stacy, with the University of Florida's Aquatic Animal Health program, removes a green sea turtle Friday (Jan. 8, 2010) from a holding tank to mark its shell with an identifiable number in white nail polish. The turtle is one of 25 that arrived at UF's College of Veterinary Medicine in Gainesville, Fla., Thursday night (Jan. 7, 2010) after being rescued from potentially fatal conditions as water temperatures in the Indian River Lagoon area dropped because of the recent cold snap.
