Pediatrics After Hours will relocate on July 20

Reminder: Gainesville’s Pediatrics After Hours program will relocate on July 20 to its own dedicated space at the new Pediatric Emergency Room at Shands Children’s Hospital from its original location at Shands Medical Plaza. Pediatrics After Hours provides evening and weekend appointment-only services for young patients who receive care from a participating Gainesville pediatrician. It is a collaborative effort between the UF College of Medicine and community pediatricians who provide urgent primary care and treat health problems that do not require emergency room treatment. Appointments are available Monday through Friday from 5 to 10 p.m.; Saturday from noon to 9 p.m.; and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. The nautical theme of the Pediatric ER is carried over into the Pediatrics After Hours space, which has its own waiting area, five private treatment rooms and one patient procedure room as well as access to the technology and experts available at the Pediatric ER. Pediatrics After Hours teams can also call on the expertise of the UF physicians at Shands Hospital for Children, who are available for consultation in more than 13 medical specialties, including pediatric surgery, cardiology, hematology and oncology.
