The UF Health Pediatrics Adolescent and Young Adult Practice offers adolescent-specific primary care services ideal for ages 11 through 21.
We treat adolescents in an age-appropriate manner by addressing the issues important to them and their parents.
We welcome direct patient appointment, as well as referrals from physicians and schools. Educational programs are also available to local schools and groups.
Clinical services include:
- Acute illness or injuries
- Annual well-child visits
- Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
- Birth control and family
- Chronic medical problems
- Gynecological evaluations
- Psychosocial evaluations
- School and sports physicals
We also provide free counseling and educational services for our patients and their families on adolescence-related issues, including:
- Adolescent development and sexuality
- Drug and alcohol abuse
- Family issues
- Family planning
- Nutrition and weight counseling
- Peer pressure
- Sexually transmitted diseases
- Vocational planning
- Social skills
