My bio
My name is Ali Khawaja, MD, and I am an assistant professor of medicine in the University of Florida Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine. Prior to joining UF Health, I was an assistant professor of medicine at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science in Minnesota.
I received my medical degree from the Aga Khan University in Karachi, Pakistan, and completed my residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio. Following residency, I completed my fellowships in pulmonary critical care medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota and Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio.
I am board-certified in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine and critical care medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. I remain engaged as a member of the American Thoracic Society, American College of Chest Physicians, American College of Physicians and the Society of Critical Care Medicine.
I was voted 'Attending of the Year' by the Internal Medicine residents for excellence in teaching for the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 academic years.
