My bio
Alonso “Mr. Al” Avendaño is a nationally certified physician assistant. He graduated from the University of Florida with a BS in Psychology in 1984. He worked in environmental education for seven years and then became the program director of the Florida Camp for Children and Youth with Diabetes for eight years. It was the camp’s medical director who encouraged him to pursue a career in medicine. He graduated with his MPAS from the UF College of Medicine in 2006.
He has been practicing as a PA in pediatrics since then in rural Northeast Florida. He is a strong advocate for immunizations, healthy lifestyles and good nutrition.
Al enjoys the outdoors, hiking, water sports, exercise and all things related to UF.
