My bio

My name is Amber Pitman, MD, and I am an assistant professor in the Department of Community Health and Family Medicine. As a Lake City native, I’m excited to serve my community as a board-certified family medicine physician at UF Health Family Medicine – Lake City. I am committed to providing patients with compassionate care, and have experience in a broad spectrum of family medicine. Areas of special emphasis include preventive medicine, hypertension, diabetes, weight loss, obesity, minor skin procedures, and women’s health/gynecology.

I earned my medical degree from Florida State University College of Medicine, and completed my residency in family medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine, during which I was the chief resident for women’s health. I am a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, and the Florida Academy of Family Physicians.

I chose to specialize in family medicine because it allows me to build close relationships with my patients and to treat the entire family. I am committed to patients’ wellness, and my goal is to empower them to be the healthiest they can be and to take control of their health.

Love of family is one aspect of my life that I share with many of my patients. My roles as a wife and as the mother of three beautiful children are very important to me, and I love spending time with my family boating and fishing.
