My bio

My patients drive my energy and staying at the forefront of guidelines, literature and technology allows me to provide them with the best care possible. As a board-certified surgeon, I care for patients across central Florida and surrounding communities in need of surgical care. My passion, expertise, experience and interest lies in management of cancerous and noncancerous conditions of the breast. Prior to my arrival at UF Health, I joined a practice in Easton, Pennsylvania, where I established a breast care center with an in-house mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy machine, ultrasound-guided biopsies, lymphedema therapy and genetic testing for high risk patients. Previously, I’ve held a near two-decade professorship at Drexel University College of Medicine, where I’ve received the Dean’s Special Award for Teaching Excellence in 1999, 2005, 2011 and 2014.

I completed my Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in Varanasi, India and general residency at Easton Hospital in Pennsylvania, serving as chief resident in my final year. I spent my preliminary years of general surgery residency at Monmouth Medical Center/Jersey Shore Medical Center in New Jersey and in India.

In my free time, I have enjoyed volunteering locally at my community historic The State Theater for Performing Arts. I volunteered nationally at the American Cancer Society, receiving the St George National Award in 2014, given to those demonstrating outstanding leadership. I also relish the opportunity to learn about cultures and history, particularly when traveling. However, my greatest joy is being able to spend time with my brothers and extended family, my wife and three kids.
