About me
My name is Christoph Seubert, MD, PhD, and I joined the Department of Anesthesiology as an assistant professor of anesthesiology in 2000. I received my medical degree from Julius-Maximilians-Universität in Würzburg, Germany, and my PhD from Albert-Ludwigs-Universität in Freiburg, Germany. I completed my residency in anesthesiology at the University of Heidelberg in Germany. I also completed an anesthesiology residency, as well as a fellowship in cardiothoracic and vascular anesthesiology, here at the University of Florida.
I am now a professor of anesthesiology and neurosurgery. A fascination with anatomy and physiology led me to medicine, and the combination of conceptual and procedural work in support of patients at their most vulnerable drew me to anesthesiology.
Clinically, I am interested in how anesthetics affect the central nervous system, both in the laboratory and perioperatively, particularly during neurosurgical procedures. My specialties include pediatric neurosurgical diseases, craniosynostosis, scoliosis, brain and spinal surgeries. I am also one of only a handful of anesthesiologists with formal qualifications in monitoring nervous system functions in patients under general anesthesia.
In my free time, I enjoy traveling to destinations that offer hiking, as well as immersing myself in foreign cultures and history.
