Connie Alford, ARNP
Pediatric Cancer - Nurse Practitioner
My bio
Connie joined the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Team in December 2013 as a Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurse Practitioner working alongside Dr. Bill Slayton. She served as the coordinator for the leukemia/lymphoma program for many years. She currently works mostly with the Pediatric Blood and Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapy program. She sees patients in the outpatient clinic and manages the care of patients admitted for transplant or cellular therapy in the hospital. She performs many of the procedures that our patients need (bone marrow aspiration/biopsies, lumbar punctures, etc). Before joining our team, Connie worked as a labor and delivery nurse and a clinical nurse leader for Shands at AGH. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time reading, walking, cross stitch and spending time with family, especially her tween daughter, who is her "mini-me."
