About me
My name is Dr. Eber L. Wright and I am an assistant professor of medicine in the division of geriatric medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine. My training and experience have been focused on providing expert care for a wide range of medical issues in a diverse patient population with an emphasis on senior care.
My goal is to have a meaningful, positive impact on the health and well-being of my patients. Older patients frequently experience complex social and medical issues, such as multiple chronic conditions that require several prescription medications, known as polypharmacy, and also declining mental and physical abilities. My patient-centered care philosophy is to improve my patients’ lives by listening to them and their families to fully understand their health status, educating them on their conditions and treatments, and in finding creative ways to provide care to patients that aligns with what matters most to them.
I graduated with my bachelor’s in chemistry from Bard College in Annandale on the Hudson, New York in 2009, earned my masters of science in physiology from Georgetown University in Washington D.C., and earned my medical degree from St. Georges University in Grenada in 2018. My residency in internal medicine residency was completed at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, and completed my fellowship in geriatric medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine in 2022.
In my free time, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, being outdoors mountain biking or kayaking, playing chess and trying to improve my cooking skills. A little-known fact about me is that I am a former college basketball athlete.
