My bio

I am an assistant professor in the University of Florida Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine, and serve as vice chief of Clinical Affairs at UF Health Shands Hospital and program director for the Interventional Pulmonology Fellowship Program. I am a practicing interventional pulmonologist and part of the thoracic oncology group at UF Health.

In 2003, I earned my medical degree from the Seth G.S. Medical College at the University of Bombay in India. My postdoctoral training includes a residency in internal medicine at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital in Chicago, followed by a fellowship in pulmonary disease and critical care at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.

I am board-certified in internal medicine, interventional pulmonary, and pulmonary medicine and critical care. My clinical interests are in lung cancer, including lung cancer screening, diagnosis and staging. My research focuses on lung cancer screening and early diagnosis, as well as developing prediction models for lung cancer in small pulmonary nodules and on bronchoscopic intratumoral injection of chemotherapy for locoregional recurrence of lung cancer. My publications include original manuscripts on lung cancer diagnosis, staging and prediction models, local treatment with intratumoral cisplatin, and book chapters and review articles on lung cancer.

In addition, I am a member of the American College of Chest Physicians, the American Association of Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology, the Association of Interventional Pulmonology Program Directors, the American Thoracic Society, the American Medical Association, the Royal College of Physicians, the American Lung Association and the Southeastern Thoracic Society.
