My bio
My name is Jason Joseph, MD, and I am a clinical assistant professor in the University of Florida Department of Urology. I received my medical degree from UF. Subsequently, I completed an internship in general surgery followed by urology residency training at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. I also have additional subspecialty training in robotics, laparoscopy and endourology from a fellowship in minimally invasive urologic surgery and endourology at UF.
My clinical interests include minimally invasive urologic surgery for both benign and malignant urologic disease, with specific interests in: robotic surgery for prostate cancer (radical prostatectomy), kidney cancer (partial nephrectomy, radical nephrectomy), upper tract urothelial carcinoma (radical nephroureterectomy), upper urinary tract obstruction (pyeloplasty, ureteral reimplantation) and lower urinary tract dysfunction (simple prostatectomy, bladder diverticulectomy). I also perform minimally invasive surgery for urinary stone disease. My research interests include applications of medical imaging and artificial intelligence to improve patient counselling and patient outcomes, as well as in elevating surgical education.
I am thrilled to return to UF to serve the community that cultivated much of my own personal and professional growth. I am committed to providing excellent, evidence-based patient care and prioritizing the needs of the patient above all. I have a passion for educating patients on the nature of their specific urologic condition, and also on the specific advantages and disadvantages of all available treatment options. I do this to empower my patients to make informed, independent decisions regarding their urologic care.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my wife, daughter and yellow Labrador.
