My bio
Hello, my name is Dr. Jean Cibula, I currently hold the BJ & Eve Wilder Professorship in Epilepsy at the University of Florida. I am a retired longtime University of Florida faculty member from the Department of Neurology and the Gainesville VA Medical Center, and I've performed pioneering research in epilepsy pharmaceuticals and epileptogenesis.
I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio where I attended medical school at Case Western Reserve University and was trained in epilepsy and behavioral neurology at the University of Florida. I was on the faculty at the University of Kentucky as well as in private practice in Columbus, Ohio, prior to my move back to the University of Florida.
As a fellow of the American Academy of Neurology, the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society and the American Epilepsy Society, I have served on the board of the Florida Society for Neurology. I served as an officer of the UF College of Medicine Faculty Council from 2012 to 2021, and I currently serve as the medical director for the UFHealth Neurodiagnostic Laboratory.
