About me
John Malaty, MD, is a Professor at the University of Florida College of Medicine in the Department of Community Health and Family Medicine. He is board-certified in family medicine and practices at UF Health Family Medicine - Main, where he serves as the Medical Director, Associate Program Director of the Family Medicine Residency Program, and Director of the Resident as Teacher Program.
Dr. Malaty received his medical degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville, where he remained to complete his residency in Family Medicine. During his time at UF, Dr. Malaty performed cancer research and graduated with honors. He also completed a general surgery internship and two years of ENT training at UF, prior to pursuing Family Medicine.
Dr. Malaty has earned multiple awards and accolades over the years, including the Patient Satisfaction Award from WellCare in 2020, Faculty of The Year Award from the Department of Community Health and Family Medicine for the fifth time in 2021. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Florida Academy of Family Physicians and the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine.
