My bio

My name is Joshua Wong, MD, and I joined the neurology department in 2022 with a focus in deep brain stimulation, or DBS, and artificial intelligence. I received my bachelor’s degree in bioengineering from UC San Diego and medical degree at New York Medical College. I also completed my residency in neurology and fellowship in movement disorders at the University of Florida.

I am now an assistant professor in the department of neurology. My laboratory is a part of the University of Florida Artificial Intelligence (AI) Initiative, where we focus on utilizing AI to improve and transform clinical care and medical education for those with DBS for movement disorders. My special interest is treating patients with movement disorders, including Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor, dystonia and others. I encourage my patients to be as engaged and inquisitive as possible to ensure both of us are on the same page with your care plan.

In my free time, I enjoy playing board games and tabletop games, such as Dungeons & Dragons.
