About me

My name is Dr. Cousins, and I am a clinical assistant professor in the University of Florida Division of Rheumatology, Allergy and Clinical Immunology and a physician at UF Health Allergy – Springhill.

Having grown up in Jamaica, which to date has no specialist in the allergy or immunology field, I was inspired to become a doctor in this specialty. It is my hope to one day be able to give back to my home country by providing this type of specialized care through outreach programs. I take pride in finding solutions that may facilitate equitable care for allergy patients in underserved communities.

I received my medical degree from The University of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica, and completed my residency in internal medicine at Howard University in Washington, D.C. Then, I transitioned to fellowship training in allergy and immunology at the Icahn School of Medicine, Mount Sinai Hospital, New York. My clinical interests include allergic rhinitis, asthma, common variable immunodeficiency, drug allergies, food allergies and nasal polyps.

During my spare time, I love staying active by riding my Peloton and practicing yoga. My additional interests include traveling to new places, and I never miss an opportunity to return home to Jamaica.
