My bio
My name is Lawrence Caruso, MD, and I joined the department in 1997 as an assistant professor. I earned my medical degree here at the University of Florida and completed residencies in anesthesiology and general surgery, and my Critical Care Medicine fellowship here at UF as well. I hold a certificate of Special Qualifications in Critical Care Medicine from the American Board of Anesthesiology.
I am now an associate professor in the divisions of Multispecialty Anesthesiology and Vascular Anesthesiology, as well as the physician director of quality for anesthesiology. I divide my time between the operating room, the Surgical Intensive Care Unit, and the Intermediate Care Unit. My research interests include nutritional support, sepsis, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
