My bio
My name is Mark Edmiston, MD, and I am an assistant professor of anesthesiology in the Division of Multispecialty Anesthesiology. I joined the Department of Anesthesiology in 2009 after spending 25 years in private practice in Gainesville, FL, and Durango, CO. I earned my medical degree from the University of Miami and completed my anesthesiology residency and fellowship here at the University of Florida.
I’m in charge of the night rotation for residents, emphasizing real-world skills of rapid assessment and optimization of emergency surgical patients. I enjoy the opportunities afforded at night to get to know the residents and to regale my captive listeners with tales from my past.
When not in the South Tower under the cover of darkness, I enjoy spending time at my lake cabin in the Ocala National Forest or in Oxford, England.
