My bio
I am Matthew Andoniadis, MD. I joined the UF Department of Anesthesiology in 2017 as an assistant professor for the Division of Multispecialty Anesthesiology. I earned my medical degree at the University of Illinois. I completed my anesthesiology residency here at the University of Florida. I then practiced at a community hospital in the Chicago area for over 20 years before returning to the UF, where I am now the Division of Multispecialty Anesthesiology Chief. I'm also the department's assistant medical director of Non-OR Anesthesia and Compliance Officer. My clinical interests include patient blood management and enhanced recovery after surgery. I'm proficient in all areas of anesthesia, and some of my areas of expertise include cardiovascular, thoracic, obstetrical, and non-operating room anesthesia. I became an anesthesiologist because it allowed me to combine my passion for pharmacology and physiology with patient care. Outside of medicine, I enjoy skiing, hiking, and mountain biking.
