My bio

My name is Dr. Michael Reza Massoomi, and I am a native of Atlanta, Ga. I completed my undergraduate degree at Georgia Tech and earned my medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia. I completed my residency in internal medicine at Emory University and then moved to Gainesville, Fla. to complete fellowships in general and interventional cardiology at the University of Florida, where I also served as chief cardiology fellow. I am an assistant professor of medicine within the division of cardiovascular medicine at UF, and my clinical interests include coronary artery disease, nutrition, preventive medicine, general health and well-being, and the incorporation of personal electronics and biometric devices in clinical practice. I focus on treating patients with a combination of lifestyle modification, medication and other treatments to help them achieve and maintain optimal health.

I serve on UF Health’s interventional cardiology faculty, performing high-risk PCI, mechanical support, TAVR and other advanced procedures. I am also an active participant in quality improvement initiatives and fellow education. My hobbies include photography, cycling, running, woodworking and music.
