About me

Hello, I'm Nicole Herndon, a speech-language pathologist at UF Health. I earned both my bachelor of science in speech, language and hearing sciences and my master of science in speech-language pathology from Purdue University.

I hold the prestigious certificate of clinical competence in speech-language pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and am also board-certified in swallowing and swallowing disorders by the American Board of Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders.

My expertise lies in addressing various conditions, including movement disorders such as Parkinson's disease, atypical Parkinsonism, Parkinsonism, Lewy body dementia, as well as neuromuscular diseases, mild cognitive impairment, dementia, primary progressive aphasia and multiple sclerosis. I am deeply committed to staying at the forefront of my field, engaging in research that focuses on analyzing speech and swallowing in patients with Parkinson's disease and atypical Parkinsonism.

In addition to my clinical work, I play a vital role in shaping the next generation of speech-language pathologists as a clinical supervisor for graduate students in the field. I am honored to serve as courtesy faculty in the Department of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences at the University of Florida, contributing to the academic and research endeavors of the institution.
