My bio
I am Nikita Chapurin, M.D., a board-certified and advanced fellowship-trained UF ENT physician specializing in sinus, nasal and minimally invasive skull base surgery. I earned my bachelor's degree with honors from Cornell University before completing my graduate medical education at Duke University, obtaining both a doctorate degree (M.D.) and a master's degree (M.H.S.) in clinical research. During my time at Duke, I was honored as an NIH-CTSA funded pre-doctoral scholar. Subsequently, I pursued my Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery residency training at Vanderbilt University.
Following my residency, I embarked on advanced fellowship training at the esteemed program at MUSC, mentored by international leaders in the field, namely Dr. Rodney Schlosser and Dr. Zach Soler. In 2023, I joined the UF Department of ENT and the Division of Rhinology & Skull Base Surgery.
My focus lies on the medical and surgical treatment of sinus disease, sinus surgeries, sinonasal cancers and benign tumors, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leak repairs and minimally invasive endoscopic skull base surgery for both adult and pediatric patients. Additionally, I have advanced training in endoscopic orbital surgery, including orbital decompressions for thyroid eye disease, DCR procedures and more, working closely with Neurosurgery and Ophthalmology specialties.
I am an active member of the American Rhinologic Society and the North American Skull Base Society, and I am board certified in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery. My research interests include improving the medical and surgical management of patients with chronic rhinosinusitis, surgical innovation in skull base surgery and disorders related to smell and taste. As an author of over 35 articles and chapters in international peer-reviewed journals and textbooks, I am committed to delivering cutting-edge clinical and surgical care to all my patients. In my spare time, I enjoy outdoor activities and love to travel.
