My bio

I am a board-certified nephrologist and assistant professor in the University of Florida Division of Nephrology, Hypertension & Renal Transplantation. My clinical interests include chronic kidney disease, those who have had an organ transplantation (lung, liver and heart), hypertension, metabolic diseases and end stage renal disease. I aim to provide the highest quality of care for my patients.

I earned my doctoral degree, studying insulin resistance and mitochondrial function in the context of diabetes and heart disease, and medical degree from the University of Utah. Subsequently, I completed an internal medicine residency, where I developed interests in vascular disease, hypertension and nephrology, and thereafter completed a nephrology fellowship. I was the recipient of the T32 NIH funding and the Kidney Stars award from the American Society of Nephrology.

After completing my training, I joined the Division of Nephrology, Hypertension & Renal Transplantation at UF. I teach nephrology fellows, medical students and physician assistant students, and received a 2023 Exemplary Teacher award by the UF College of Medicine. Additionally, I author and co-author a variety of publications, present at national and international conferences, and have been recognized as a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology (FASN).
