My bio
My name is Omar Tolaymat, M.D. I am an assistant professor in the University of Florida College of Medicine Department of Rheumatology, and I am board certified in both internal medicine and in rheumatology. As a rheumatologist, I diagnose and treat diseases that affect the joints – such as arthritis – and also diagnose and treat patients with autoimmune disorders.
My patient promise is to be thorough in providing care and honest in sharing information and treatment options for my patients’ rheumatologic conditions. I am intentional in making time to listen to my patients, which helps facilitate an accurate diagnosis and identification of the most effective course of treatment for them.
I graduated with my medical degree from the Florida International University College of Medicine, followed by a residency in internal medicine at the University of Florida – Jacksonville. I completed a fellowship in rheumatology at Mayo Clinic Florida. Prior to joining UF Health, I served as an assistant professor of rheumatology at Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University, and I am a member of the American College of Rheumatology.
When not providing patient care, I enjoy spending time with my family, beaching, fishing, cycling, skateboarding and playing guitar.
