About me

My name is Peggy White, MD, and I am an associate professor in the UF Department of Anesthesiology. I primarily work in the Division of Critical Care Medicine, and I am the director of the Multidisciplinary Adult Critical Care Medicine Fellowship.

I joined the department as an assistant professor in 2012. I have a bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology and athletic training from Illinois State University and another in nursing from Florida Atlantic University. I received my medical degree from Saba University School of Medicine in the Caribbean Netherlands. Here at the University of Florida, I completed my anesthesiology residency and fellowships in both critical care medicine and neuroanesthesiology.

My research has included studies in the critically ill patient population, traumatic brain injury, neuroanesthesiology, and organ donation. I also have an interest in education and have won multiple awards for teaching residents and fellows, including being honored four times with the Exemplary Teacher Award. I am a faculty advisor the Anesthesia Interest Group in the College of Medicine as well as the critical care medicine fellow journal club director and board review director.
