My bio

Rebecca Beyth, MD, MSc, is tenured Professor of Medicine within the Division of General Internal Medicine, and she also serves as a physician at UF Health Internal Medicine - Medical Plaza. Dr. Beyth received her undergraduate degree from Case Western Reserve University and her medical degree from Jefferson Medical College. She completed an internal medicine residency at Michigan State University, and a general medicine/clinical epidemiology fellowship and clinical geriatrics fellowship at Case Western Reserve University. She also obtained a master’s degree in biostatistics and clinical research design and analysis at The University of Michigan School of Public Health. She was previously a faculty member at Case Western Reserve University and Baylor College of Medicine before arriving at the University of Florida in 2005, where she is a member of the Division of General Internal Medicine. Dr. Beyth directs the Internal Medicine Residency’s Evidence Based-Medicine (EBM) program and the EBM problem-based learning curriculum for medical students at the University of Florida. She also serves as the Associate Director for Clinical Innovation at the Geriatric Research Education and Clinical Center at the Gainesville VA Medical Center, and directs the VA Chief Residents’ program in Quality and Patient Safety. Her professional interests include improving the quality of care and outcomes for patients, clinical decision-making, the appropriate use of procedures and diagnostic tests and evidence-based medicine. She enjoys spending time with her husband, four children and her corgi.
