About me
I was inspired to become a doctor by my father who served as an internist and pulmonologist in our native town in India. Apart from being the director of the internal medicine division, he helped the community by providing a pro bono pulmonary clinic. Now, I am a clinical assistant professor in the University of Florida Division of Nephrology, Hypertension & Renal Transplantation. I treat patients with various transplant needs, including immunosuppression management, kidney or pancreas rejection, along with managing conditions such as chronic kidney disease, end-stage renal disease, acute and chronic dialysis and other post-transplant complications.
I completed my Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the Rani Durgavati University in India. I did my internal medicine residency at East Tennessee State University, followed by a nephrology fellowship at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta. Afterward, I worked as an internist and nephrologist in Eureka, California, where I provided necessary specialist care to its medically underserved surrounding communities. I finished my training by completing a transplant nephrology fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Prior to joining UF, I worked as an assistant professor and transplant nephrologist at Wexner Medical Center at The Ohio State University.
I keep active in research and have contributed to several publications, presentations and posters. Additionally, I am a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Nephrology, the American Society Transplantation and the Georgia Association of Physicians of Indian heritage. I am also a fellow of the American Society of Nephrology.
Other than providing excellent clinical care, I hope to make transplantation more enjoyable for patients. I am blessed with a profound sense of humor and always try to make my patients smile or laugh. Apart from taking care of patients, I enjoy keeping up with my hobbies, listening to music, cooking, and running and hiking.
