My bio
My name is Russell Terry, MD, and I am an assistant professor in the University of Florida Department of Urology.
I earned my medical degree with research honors at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine in Mobile, Alabama. Following medical school, I completed my urology residency training at the UF College of Medicine and my fellowship training in endourology, metabolic stone disease and laparoscopic and robotic surgery at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina.
Prior to joining UF Health, I served as a clinical associate in Duke University Medical Center’s division of urology. While at Duke, I was twice awarded the Duke Health Gold Star Award for Exceptional Service. During my fellowship training, I received the Urology Care Foundation Research Scholar Award, which supported my research investigations into laser lithotripsy innovations for the treatment of kidney stones.
My clinical interests include the minimally invasive treatment of kidney stones, ureteral stones, medical therapy for the prevention of kidney stones and the use of laparoscopic and robotic modalities to treat benign and malignant conditions of the prostate and upper urinary tract, such as a PCNL. My research interests include artificial intelligence applications in urology, medical imaging radiomics, laser lithotripsy, metabolic stone disease, and the development and testing of novel medical devices.
During my free time, I enjoy college football, traveling and spending time with my wife and children.
