My bio
Hi there, my name is Dr. Roca and I am a Clinical Associate Professor at the Congenital Heart Center here at UF Health. I attended Tulane University School of Medicine where I completed my medical degree and pediatric residency training. Next, I completed a fellowship in pediatric cardiology at Tulane University and the Ochsner Hospital for Children in New Orleans.
I am fellowship trained and board certified in pediatrics and pediatric cardiology and have been practicing for 27 years. My inspiration to pursue a career in cardiology came from my fascination with anatomy and physiology as well as my skill in math. I was drawn to pediatrics because children want to get better. During my residency I enjoyed my cardiology elective the most and became very good friends with the chairman of pediatric cardiology who inspired me. My goal is to make a correct diagnosis and facilitate the best care for all my patients. I treat every patient with the care I would expect for my own child.
I have published in peer-reviewed journals and medical textbooks, and have presented my research findings at the National Society of Pediatric Research annual meeting and at the American College of Cardiology annual meeting. I am a member of the American Heart Association’s Council on Cardiovascular Disease in the Young and the American College of Cardiology.
When I am not practicing I enjoy traveling and boating with my husband. I am addicted to my Peloton bike and I love everything about music (listening, dancing and playing).
