My name is Timothy Feldheim, MD, and I am an assistant professor of anesthesiology in the University of Florida Division of Pain Medicine. I received my bachelors degree in molecular and cellular biology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, my masters degree in medical sciences from Loyola University Chicago, and my medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Rockford, Illinois. I completed my anesthesiology residency here at UF and completed a pain medicine fellowship at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center.
My passion for medicine comes from the phenomenal care I received as a child growing up with a rare form of hemophilia. It inspired me to give my patients the same outstanding care that I received in my early years. I want to know their concerns so that I can take better care of them in the operating room as well as in the clinic.
In addition to the division of pain medicine, I serve in the divisions of multispecialty anesthesiology and vascular anesthesiology. My areas of expertise include cancer pain and chronic pain. My research interests focus on cancer pain, postoperative outcomes for chronic pain in transplant patients, and incorporating mathematical modeling and artificial intelligence in health care.
Outside of medicine, I enjoy hiking, skiing, cooking and grilling. Im also an avid but terrible golfer. Im a huge football fan and, while my heart will always be with the Big Ten, Ive adopted the Gators as my SEC team.
