About me
My name is Tracy Tholanikunnel, MD, and I am a Clinical Assistant Professor at UF College of Medicine department of Neurology in the division of movement disorders. I received my medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Following medical school, I completed an internship in internal medicine and my residency in adult neurology at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Afterward, I completed my fellowship in movement disorders at the University of Florida.
Every day, I am inspired by the resilience and dedication of patients in the movement disorders clinic. I decided to specialize in movement disorders because I enjoy having a longitudinal relationship with my patients and utilizing the opportunities for research to constantly improve treatments for my patients. As a physician, I encourage all my patients to ask questions and address concerns so we are able to work together to reach their goals.
Patients see me for various conditions and treatments that include general movement disorders, Parkinson’s disease, dementia with Lewy bodies, atypical parkinsonism, tremor, dystonia and deep brain stimulation.
During my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking and exploring Gainesville and its surrounding areas.
