My bio

My name is Tung Wynn, MD, and I am a board-certified pediatric hematology-oncology physician at the University of Florida. I am a clinical associate professor in the division of pediatric hematology-oncology at UF. I am also the director of the UF Pediatric Hemostasis Program and the UF Pediatric Cancer Survivorship Program. I earned my medical degree from Northeastern Ohio Medical University. After that, I completed residency, specializing in pediatrics, at the Children’s Hospital Center of Akron. Continuing to follow my passion, I completed a fellowship in hematology and oncology at Nationwide. Children’s Hospital.

My interests include hemophilia and hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia. I hold professional memberships with the American Society of Hematology, Florida Medical Association, Children’s Oncology Group, American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and the American Academy of Pediatrics. As a physician, I proudly serve my community by always taking time to say hello those that I care for and by being a leader when my position calls me to be.

I chose to pursue medicine with the simple desire to help others and to be an example for them. I chose to care for pediatric hematology and oncology patients because all of my best mentors in school were all pediatric hematologists and I strived to become a physician like them. My goal as a physician is to create sustainable programs in bleeding disorders and survivorship that allows patients and their families to have a normal childhood and that prepares them for adulthood.

Outside of work, I enjoy gardening, completing small woodworking projects, learning how to can and pickle foods, perfecting southern barbeque and spending time with my wife as we watch our family grow. My favorite book genres include science fiction and mystery novels.
