My bio
Dr. Peng graduated with an M.D. degree from Xian Medical University, China, in 1985. In 1996 he moved to the United States and obtained his Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the Medical University of South Carolina. He completed his anesthesia residency training at the University of Florida in 2001 and his cardiothoracic anesthesia fellowship training at Emory University in 2002.
Dr. Peng is currently the Chief of the Division of Cardiothoracic Anesthesia and an Associate Professor of Anesthesiology. His research interests include hemodynamic monitoring and management of complex cardiovascular procedures. He is also interested in TEE simulation and education.
Dr. Peng has received multiple honors and awards including Best Doctors in America, International Chinese Academy of Anesthesiologists Outstanding Academic Exchange Program Achievement Award, University of Florida College of Medicine International Educator of the Year, and University of Florida College of Medicine Department of Anesthesiology T.W. Andersen, MD, Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award. He is also a member of multiple anesthesia societies including Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists, International Anesthesia Research Society, and American Society of Anesthesiologists. He currently serves as the Chair for the Chinese American Society of Anesthesiologists Cardiovascular Anesthesia Committee.
