Should I go to emergency or urgent care?
Choosing the best immediate care option can be confusing. Let’s go over some differences like hours of operation, treatment options, cost and more to help you with your decision.
Located on SW Archer Road less than three miles west of I-75, the free-standing emergency department in the Kanapaha section of Southwest Gainesville is housed in a 10,881-square-foot building to include all of the technology and diagnostic resources necessary for emergency care.
The new emergency center is fully equipped and staffed to provide the same level of emergency care provided in hospital-based emergency departments, and is open 24/7. The new facility is staffed entirely by board-certified UF Health emergency medicine physicians and nurses specially trained in emergency medicine.
UF Health Emergency Center – Kanapaha features ten treatment spaces for patients, one room dedicated to trauma care and its own lab and diagnostic radiology services, including CT scans.
