An ophthalmologist is a medical doctor who specializes in eye and vision care, from prescribing glasses and contact lenses to complex and delicate eye surgery. Ophthalmologists also research the causes and cures for eye diseases and vision problems.

The on-site surgery center is the newest addition to the services provided to our patients at UF Health – The Oaks. This 23,500 sq. foot cutting-edge facility features five surgical suites and boasts the latest technology and equipment in ophthalmology. The center is equipped to handle it all—from routine procedures like cataract removal to complex surgeries such as cornea transplants and retina repairs, and is designed to provide a comfortable, stress-free experience for patients with close proximity to our eye clinic and other UF Health services.

The Optical Center is now open to UF Health Eye Center patients and the general public Monday – Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Lasik surgery

Costs, billing, and insurance
