Nuclear Medicine
Nuclear medicine is the use of radioactive tracers to diagnose and treat patients. Nuclear Imaging is beneficial because it shows the structure of an organ along with the function of the organ.
The Nuclear Medicine department utilizes many high-quality instruments, including its first PET scanner. In addition, all out-patient Nuclear Medicine procedures are located in our spacious new location in the Medical Plaza where PET is located. New equipment for inpatients has been installed in the main department in UF Health Shands Hospital.
