Tracy Brown Wright
Public Relations and Alumni Affairs Director, College of Nursing
Tracy Wright is director of public relations and alumni affairs for the University of Florida College of Nursing. She has overseen the College’s communications since 2002 and assumed responsibility over alumni affairs in 2009. Tracy is responsible for the college’s communications programs, including publications, the Web site, strategic planning, news releases, media relations, event planning, crisis communications and academic recruiting, as well as alumni affairs programming, including alumni outreach events, alumni council, student ambassador group and linking advancement via communications, development and alumni affairs. She holds a master's degree in mass communications with a concentration in health and public relations and a bachelor of science in public relations, both from the UF College of Journalism and Communications. Before serving in the College of Nursing, she served in public relations roles at the UF College of Dentistry and North Florida Regional Medical Center. Tracy serves as past chair of the Nursing Advancement Professionals of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing and sits on the College of Journalism and Communications Alumni Advisory Council.
Produce college publications, including alumni newsletters, biennial reports, fundraising materials and brochures. Write news releases, pitch story ideas and respond to media inquiries. Contribute content for HSC publications. Coordinates internal communications projects, assists with communications to the college’s alumni, donors and friends, coordinates special events for internal and external audiences, handles media relations, helps promote the college through various marketing activities and publications, and oversees content and direction of the college’s online presence through the web site and other online media tools such as Facebook. Interface with development staff to seamlessly advance the mission of the College via its alumni, donors and friends through communications and alumni affairs programming.
