UF Health Shands Hospital

• Established 1958
• Includes UF Health Shands Cancer Hospital, UF Health Shands Children's Hospital, UF Health Heart & Vascular Hospital, UF Health Neuromedicine Hospital and UF Health Psychiatric Hospital
• Areas of excellence in cancer specialties, heart care, women and children's services, neuromedicine specialties and transplant services
• More than 1,200 UF faculty physicians practice in about 100 specialty and subspecialty medical areas
• Operates a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and a state-designated Level I Trauma Center that treats almost 5,000 patients a year

UF Health Shands Cancer Hospital

• Established 2009, the 500,000-square-foot facility offers advanced resources for a wide range of oncology, surgery, critical care and emergency/trauma patients
• Recognized as a state-designated Cancer Center of Excellence, along with the UF Health Critical Care Center
• Features stem cell laboratory, bone marrow transplant unit and clinic, 13 leading-edge operating rooms, one interventional radiology room and one OR/IR hybrid trauma room
• Houses the UF Health Critical Care Center, with a co-located adult emergency room and the region’s only Level I trauma center, offering large private patient rooms and spacious trauma rooms

UF Health Jacksonville

• Established 1870
• Areas of excellence include the Cardiovascular Center and Neuroscience Institute
• More than 500 UF faculty physicians practice in about 75 areas of specialty care
• Operates a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and the area’s only state-designated Level I Trauma Center that treats more than 4,000 patients a year
• Operates one of three Florida-based Poison Information Centers
• UF’s heart surgery program earned a three-star rating, the highest standard from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, for being among the nation’s top 12%
• Designated as a Comprehensive Stroke Center by the Agency for Health Care Administration; and certified as a Primary Stroke Center with the Gold Seal of Approval™ by The Joint Commission; received the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke Gold Plus Performance Achievement Award
• Operates the UF Center for Simulation Education and Safety Research, one of 40 non-military simulation labs in the nation
• Operates TraumaOne, which provides emergency ground and air transport for patients and includes a special team for neonatal transports
• UF Health Jacksonville and the UF Health Proton Therapy Institute offer patients the world’s most advanced forms of external beam radiation in one setting using the latest conventional radiation equipment and proton beam

UF Health Psychiatric Hospital

• Established 1987
• Behavioral health and addiction facility
• UF Health physicians provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services for adults and children
• Services include treatment for addiction, memory disorders, anxiety, depression, bi-polar disorders, eating disorders and a wide range of other conditions

UF Health Shands Rehab Centers

• UF Health rehabilitation teams specialize in adult and pediatric outpatient services, including occupational and physical therapy, spine and neurological rehabilitation, hand therapy, movement disorders treatments, post-radiation lymphedema management, and other services at locations around Gainesville
• A sports rehabilitation team helps athletes return to action through rehabilitation and conditioning

UF Health Shands HomeCare and UF Health HomeCare – Jacksonville

• Serves 17 counties in North Central and Northeast Florida
• UF Health Shands HomeCare and UF Health HomeCare – Jacksonville agencies offer diverse support services and assistance, from skilled nursing and therapy to homemaker services. Many of these services are covered by health insurance plans, including Medicare.

UF Health Physician Practices

• UF Health physicians provide outpatient care in more than 80 practices, with more than 1,000 providers
• Services range from primary care to highly complex, subspecialized care
• UF Health physicians also treat patients at UF Health hospitals, offer second opinions, conduct breakthrough medical research, educate tomorrow’s doctors and consult with medical colleagues from across the country on complex cases
• Many UF Health physicians are recognized by their peers among America’s top doctors for providing unsurpassed levels of care and are regularly cited in the media for providing outstanding technological advances in care
