My bio

My name is Anand Gupte, MD, and I am an associate professor of medicine in the division of gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition, the VA site director of the GI Fellowship Program, and a part of the advanced therapeutic and interventional endoscopy team. The majority of my practice is at the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center. I also perform advanced endoscopy procedures at UF Health Shands Hospital.

I earned my Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 1998 from the University of Bombay. I went forth to complete my master of science in cell biology and molecular genetics at the University of Maryland, postdoctoral fellowship in pharmacology at George Washington University School of Medicine and postdoctoral fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at Brown University. In 2007, I completed an internal medicine residency at Boston University/Roger Williams Hospital and undertook a gastroenterology fellowship and advanced endoscopy fellowship at the University of Florida.

I am a fellow of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (FASGE) and served as invited faculty at the ASGE First Year Fellows Course in 2020. I have been invited by the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) to serve as a proctor at their hands-on sessions at their annual meetings in 2018 and 2021. Additionally, I serve on the ASGE Scientific Program Committee for DDW (video plenary and World Cup of Endoscopy) in 2019, 2020 and 2021. I have been a member of the ASGE Scientific Program Committee since 2014, including serving as chair from 2017-2018.
