About me

My name is Dr. Sharma, and I am an associate professor in the University of Florida Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition. I have clinical interests in celiac disease and hereditary forms of GI cancers, including Lynch syndrome, familial adenomatous polyposis, serrated polyposis syndrome, juvenile polyposis syndrome and peutz-jeghers syndrome, and genetic mutations associated with gastric cancer.

I earned my Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees at Government Medical College Amritsar in India. Afterward, I completed my gastroenterology residency at Catholic Medical Center and Hepatology fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital.

I have extensive experience in treating patients with refractory H pylori infections. I also see patients with neuroendocrine tumors of the stomach and small bowel, and have expertise in treating patients with sclerosing mesenteritis and CVID-related GI illnesses. Most recently, I have been diagnosing and managing many patients with mast cell activation and hypermobility syndromes.
