Oncologist (Cancer Specialist)
Dr. Daniel V. Araujo is a medical oncologist specializing in genitourinary malignancies — kidney, bladder, prostate, and testicular cancer — as well as melanoma and other skin cancers. At the UF Health Cancer Institute, he serves as Clinical Leader of the Genitourinary Disease Specific Group and Medical Director of Biospecimen Resources. He is also Fellowship Research Leader for the Hematology/Oncology fellowship program at the UF College of Medicine.
He earned his medical degree from Universidade Federal da Paraíba (UFPB) in Brazil, completed an internal medicine residency at UNESP Botucatu and a medical oncology fellowship at AC Camargo Cancer Center, and pursued advanced fellowship training in drug development at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, University of Toronto.
His research centers on early-phase clinical trials, drug development, dose optimization, trial design, and evidence synthesis. He is a recipient of ASCO's Young Investigator Award and International Development and Education Award, has served on ASCO's International Innovation Grant review committee, and is an alumnus of the ASCO Leadership Development Program.
Before joining UF Health, Dr. Araujo was an Assistant Professor at the University of British Columbia and a medical oncologist at BC Cancer – Abbotsford. Earlier, he served as Head of Medical Oncology at Hospital de Base in São José do Rio Preto and as faculty at AC Camargo Cancer Center.
He sees patients in English and Portuguese. Outside the clinic, he spends time with his wife and two daughters, plays tennis, and follows Brazilian soccer.
