My bio
My name is Taylor Polk, and I am a nurse practitioner at UF Health Family Medicine – Oldtown. I am proud to follow in my mother’s footsteps as a nurse practitioner – her example has always inspired my passion for learning and helping people.
Most of my clinical experience has been in family medicine in rural settings, and I enjoy taking an active role in my patients’ health, developing relationships with my patients, and in providing holistic care. I grew up in Florida’s rural Panhandle area, and feel an affinity for patients who live in rural communities. My nursing experience is mostly in critical care, which I believe has established a strong foundation for treating patients with chronic diseases. I particularly enjoy providing care for women’s health and chronic diseases.
I earned my Doctor of Nursing Practice and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Florida State University. While in the doctor of nursing practice program, I completed research on heart failure and nurse training to assist them in educating heart failure patients upon hospital discharge.
I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my husband and son. We enjoy boating, cruising, and worshipping together at church.
