Jason J Arellano, MD, FACS, FASMBS

I joined University of Florida Health Surgical Specialists – Medical Center of Deltona in February 2020 with the aspiration to provide specialized surgical care to all patients in Volusia County, where I am a minimally invasive and bariatric surgeon.

I obtained my medical degree at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York and later completed my surgery residency at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, New York, followed by a minimally invasive and bariatric surgery fellowship at Albany Medical Center. Since then, I have been a surgeon at hospitals throughout Long Island, New York, performing minimally invasive, bariatric and robotic surgery.

I have received several awards and academic achievements, including the Service Excellence Award, Resident Teacher of the Year and first place in the Brooklyn/Long Island Chapter of the American College of Surgeons’ poster presentation. My current research studies include robotic sleeve gastrectomy using 60 mm automatic tissue compression stapler technology.
